Almancil

This town has become an important centre for providing supporting services to feed the needs of two nearby stylish well-established holiday and residential developments; Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo.

Here you will find 2 large supermarkets, Pingo Doce and Apolonia. Apolonia's in particular caters for international tastes and has a very good butchers, but it is more expensive than Pingo Doce. Both supermarkets of course have cafes. They also provide a take-away service for cooked meals.

There are several chemists and banks in Almancil. Also, as to be expected, there are many interior decorators and furnishing shops.

On the 1st and 4th Sunday of every month there is a local market.

In keeping with the needs of the area there are a good selection of restaurants offering many different forms of cuisine at a variety of price ranges. You will also find several bars, cafes and pastelerias (cake shops). Some, like the English bar called Casa@, which has internet access.

For entertainment Almancil also has a popular Karting track.
